A new destination for Amsterdam Overamstel — Primestone Development steps in

Primestone Development has acquired a strategic position on the Joop Geesinkweg in Amsterdam Overamstel. The location will host a mixed-use development of 35,000 m² — residential, care and commercial — right in the middle of one of the most dynamic transformation zones in the Netherlands.

Joop Geesinkweg — Amsterdam Overamstel

We are here. And we are going to build.

Over the past year, Primestone Development has acquired a strategic position on the Joop Geesinkweg in Amsterdam — and this is no coincidence. It is a deliberate choice, based on a conviction: this area is about to ignite, and we want to be part of it.

With 35,000 m² of planned development — residential, care and commercial — we are making a statement right in the middle of one of the most dynamic transformation zones in the Netherlands.

The place: Overamstel, the new heart of Amsterdam-East

The Overamstel district is undergoing a complete metamorphosis. Four sub-areas — Amstelkwartier, Kauwgomballenkwartier, Weespertrekvaartbuurt and Muyskenkwartier — are growing together into a new, vibrant urban district. What was once an anonymous office park and outdated industrial zone is becoming one of the most talked-about area developments in the country.

Bajeskwartier — right next to our location — is being transformed into a dynamic and green neighbourhood where living, working, learning, creating and relaxing go hand in hand. It will become a circular, sustainable and healthy district — an exceptional place that offers Amsterdam something new.

The Joop Geesinkweg itself is located in the business district of Amsterdam-East, part of the Amstel Business Park. The location is directly on the S111 exit of the A10 ring road, with seamless connections to the A1 towards Amersfoort, the A2 to Utrecht and the A4 to Schiphol, The Hague and Rotterdam. The metro stations Spaklerweg and Van der Madeweg are within walking distance, with a direct link to Amsterdam Central and Schiphol Airport.

This is not a backstreet location. This is the epicentre of Amsterdam's growth agenda.

Why 35,000 m² of living, care and commercial?

Because Amsterdam needs it. The city is groaning under the housing shortage. Care staff are leaving the city for lack of affordable housing. And districts that are only residential or only working are not districts at all — they are dormitories or office parks.

Primestone believes in mixed urbanism. In a programme where people live, where they find care close to home, and where there is room for entrepreneurs and amenities that make a neighbourhood lively. Our programme on the Joop Geesinkweg is exactly that: a complete ecosystem of 35,000 m² that contributes to both the social and economic infrastructure of Overamstel.

The timing is now

In the coming years the area around the Joop Geesinkweg will be completely transformed through the development of housing and the upgrading of the infrastructure. Those who step in now are helping to build the foundation of a new urban district. Those who wait, watch.

Primestone Development has made that choice. We do not build behind the facts — we lead the way.

Joop Geesinkweg, Amsterdam. We are ready.
